Decorate Your Christmas Tree in 5 Steps

Friday, December 13, 2013

We put our best feet forward in simplifying Christmas tree-decorating.  5 simple steps, with pictures and tips of course, should get the job done.  Think of your decorating in layers.  Here's how!

1.  Lights
Starting from the bottom, weave lights, lighted of course, in and out of each layer of branches.  Avoid wrapping lights around the tree as it makes your job of evenly-dispersing lights on the tree more difficult.  Plus, it is not as easy to pull the lights down when they are wrapped around the tree.

2.  Ribbons, Tinsel, Mesh, and/or Garland
We used homemade felt garland in our tree.  Click HERE for the tutorial.

3.  Ornaments
Work from biggest ornaments to smallest ornaments.  Decorate with one variety of ornaments at a time to ensure an even dispersal of each type of ornament.

4.  Vacuum
Come on... nobody likes a messy tree bottom.  You just spent all this time decorating your tree to perfection.  Take the time to vacuum the needles.  You wouldn't display a Christmas tablescape with a bunch of food crumbs.  Just saying.

5.  Add Tree Skirt and Presents
