Mini Gingerbread House Cookies

Saturday, November 30, 2013

We just have to share how these originated.  Everyone (and maybe even their dog) has cookie cutter sets with too many holiday-themed cookie cutters that never get used.  Well, this Christmas we are putting one of those never-before-seen-on-this-blog shapes from Halloween to good use.  Yes, that's right, Halloween. We used what was intended to be a haunted house as a frilly little gingerbread house.  Then we even came up with a fun way to make it look like snow melted on it.  Check it out!

Thanksgiving Teepee Craft

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

` use as a name card for your thanksgiving table setting

` have guests decorate their own for a fun and easy thanksgiving activity

` be creative with your teepee embellishments... young kids might fair better with stickers

Here's how we did it!

` use a straight edge and butter knife to trace each of the lines that will be folded (this will make the folds crisper and cleaner)

` use as a name card for your thanksgiving table setting

` use tape or glue to close the teepee

Thanksgiving Leaf and Feather Garlands

Monday, November 4, 2013

We love Fall, but our houses don't match harvesty colors.  To get around this dilemma, we made modern-looking leaves and feathers for our garland in fun, bright colors (like the turquoise and the purple).  Then, because we can't completely ignore the harvest, we complemented our cool colors with orange and yellow.  Throw in some neutrals, and you are totally in business.  Look!  Now your Thanksgiving can match your house, and we show you plenty of examples.

` it wouldn't be thanksgiving without leaf garland across your tv stand

` or without feather garland strung across your shelf

` look how cute the feathers could look with your accessories

` hang garland down your bookshelf

` or on any or every wall you see fit

Happy Modern Thanksgiving!
